When first starting the Intestinal Cleanse program, it is important to determine whether you have an irritated bowel (moves too often) or a constipated bowel (moves less often than the number of meals eaten each day on average). 
 
Intestinal Cleanse #1 is only used for the constipated bowel.  For the irritated bowel, Intestinal Cleanse #2 is the first product to use, and will give wonderful results. 
 
If your bowels move less often than the number of meals you eat each day (on average), you will start by determining how many Intestinal Cleanse #1 you need each day in order to regularly go as often as you eat.  Do this by taking one capsule of IC #1 for the first 2 or 3 days with your largest meal.  During the following days, some sort of increased bowel activity should occur.  If not, increase your dose to two capsules with the same meal during the next 2 to 3 days.  Keep increasing your dose by one more capsule with the same meal every 2 to 3 days until you have as many solid bowel movements as the number of meals you ate the previous day. 

When this occurs, continue taking the same number of capsules that were taken the day before from that day forward.  When the number of solid bowel movements each day, for 3 consecutive days, is equal to the number of meals that were eaten during each of the previous days (on average), it is time to start adding Intestinal Cleanse #2 to your program.
