Extreme Health's organically grown green tea has been laboratory tested to be free of pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals – but more importantly, each brewing provides a surprisingly refreshing drink that is rich in antioxidant polyphenols, which can provide profound cardiovascular and cellular protection promoting normal functioning.
Based on laboratory analysis, on average each 60-second brewed cup of Extreme Health green tea will yield approximately 3,000 ORAC units and 190 mg of polyphenols (antioxidants), as compared to most green tea products with no ORAC verification and generally between 30-45 mg per cup of polyphenols. Green tea is known to contain the highest concentration of health-promoting antioxidants called polyphenols.
Did you know that a cup of Green Tea may provide 10-40mg of polyphenols (a class of bioflavonoids) and has antioxidant activity greater than a serving of spinach, broccoli, carrots or strawberries? Did you know that Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), a potent antioxidant, makes up about 10-50% of the total catechin content in Green Tea and appears to be the most powerful of the catechins – with antioxidant activity about 25-100 times more potent than vitamins C and E?
Did you know, there are many kinds of polyphenols but the catechin polyphenols unique to Green Tea may be the strongest, most remarkable of all? The powerful catechins in Green Tea work to:
-
Inhibit excess body fat by improved circulation.
-
Help suppress appetite and cravings.
-
Slow the aging process by inhibiting “free radical” damage to cells.
-
Aids in weight loss by burning calories.
-
Help strengthen cardiovascular and immune system health.
-
Help maintain cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar, within their normal limits.
-
Stimulate the immune system
What are Antioxidants and why do you need them? Antioxidants-An Extreme Health Complement to Your Body's ORAC Needs by Extreme Health Inc.
Perhaps there is no greater investment in maintaining a youthful body and anti-aging vitality than the consumption of antioxidants. Oxygen is a life-giving and life-sustaining property allowing for the proliferation of existence on this planet. Yet, oxygen also has an oxidative (rusting) effect on our bodies, and it is this rusting that results from unstable molecules that is at the heart of premature aging. Once oxidation occurs some studies indicate that poor health can result anywhere in the body.
Antioxidants are theorized to interact with and stabilize unstable molecules known as free radicals. A single free radical can cause damage to millions of other molecules in your body, setting off a chain-reaction of internal damage. Free radicals assault cells, have been linked by studies to a host of different chronic conditions*, and generally may prevent your body from proper functioning. This pillaging action can negatively affect tissues, large enzyme complexes which help to regulate your metabolism, vitamin C, and DNA that holds genetic instructions for cellular development and is responsible for inherited traits, from hair color to disease susceptibility.
Antioxidants are substances that can protect cells from the accelerating aging process of damage caused by free radicals; they also stimulate the immune system's response to help fight disease*. Considerable evidence from a variety of studies indicates that there is a positive link between longevity and antioxidants in the body*. The higher the levels of antioxidants, the longer a person can be expected to live – just that simple!
The Gold Standard for measuring antioxidant capability or protection is the ORAC unit, which translates into oxygen radical absorbance capacity, and cannot be measured by scanners! The ORAC unit of measure - developed by Tufts University , Brunswick Laboratory, and the USDA - is the ability of a nutrient to stabilize and neutralize the harmful effects of free radical damage. It was determined that the body requires between 3,000 and 5,000 ORAC units per day to functionally counteract the effects of free radicalization*.
Some companies boast about the “science” of measuring certain color molecules like carotenoids, using scanners which absorb certain light wavelengths, and thus use these results as the basis for determining total antioxidant protection. While units of measure called Body Defense Scores that range in the thousands can appear impressive, antioxidants are not just about carotenoids. The body needs a variety of antioxidants derived from a mixture of sources to protect against free radical damage*.
Examples of a smorgasbord of antioxidant sources include beta-carotene, lycopene, vitamins C, E, and A, other vitamins, and many minerals such as copper, zinc, selenium, etc. All of these different substances work as a team to neutralize free radicals and pass them out of the body as part of the natural elimination of cellular waste through the kidneys and liver*.
Generally, antioxidants are said to help:
- Protect cells from premature, abnormal aging*.
- Promote the growth of healthy cells*.
- Destroy the free radicals that damage cells*.
- Fight age-related macular degeneration*.
- Provide excellent support for the body's immune system*.
Fortunately, there are several solutions that can have a significant effect on your overall health and give you the range of antioxidant contributors that are so needed for optimum health and longevity.
The body's ten billion cells are under constant attack by free radicals*. The longevity fruit revered for thousands of years in Asia – sun-dried Tibetan Goji Berry– is jam-packed with protein (14% more than whole wheat), vitamin A (more than carrots), vitamin C (500 times more per ounce than oranges), vitamins B, B-2, B-5, B-6, 21 trace minerals, 18 amino acids, calcium, magnesium, betaine, beta-carotene, linoleic-acid, germanium (rarely found in food), and many more nutrients. Internationally known herbalist, registered pharmacist, and well-renowned nutritionist Dr. Earl Mindell calls this berry “the most nutritionally dense food on the planet.”
Extreme Health's Tibetan Goji, from the Tibet-Mongolian region, is different from the Chinese Wolfberry in taste; it is much sweeter, and is reliably free from harmful pesticides, herbicides, and DDT, all of which have been freely used in China for years because of no governmental regulations excluding their use.
The Tibetan Goji Berry contains many sources of immune and antioxidant protection, including B and C vitamins, beta-carotene, amino acids, minerals, EFA's, and the master molecule polysaccharides .
Polysaccharides are super powerful antioxidants that are thought to defend against premature aging and fight free radical damage throughout the body*. Extreme Health routinely seeks third party laboratory analysis which verifies the antioxidant ORAC units of its Tibetan Goji Berry . A recent laboratory report noted assayed results of over 30,000 ORAC units per 100 grams (about 3.5 ounces) of a multicomplex of powerful antioxidants found in Extreme Health's Tibetan Goji Berry
Extreme Health's Green Tea Organically Grown contains 93-97% Polyphenols most others green teas contain 20-40%

BE ADVISED!! Since Green Tea has a relatively short shelf life, it is important to obtain authentic products from reliable sources. You'll want to avoid, at all costs, Green Teas that are old, and those that are not sealed in airtight packaging with the oxygen replaced with nitrogen. Even at well known coffee chains, the "Green Tea" you find may be inferior. Trust in the Extreme Health label for quality, freshness, and potency…second to none. |
Brewing Instructions: 1 tablespoon of loose-leaf tea, steeped for about 60 seconds, will provide the anti-oxidant benefits of approximately 3,000 ORAC units per cup to help fight premature aging due to free radical damage. Steeping tea longer will yield a greater concentration of antioxidants, and conversely the taste will become more bitter.. You may re-use steeped tea leaves several times. With each subsequent use there is a 40-50% drop in ORAC, polyphenols, (anti-oxidants), and caffeine. To brew tea using a flow-through coffee maker, use 1/2 cup to yield about 20 cups or more. |
